Super Premium Amp issues after Sunroof drains failed

Hi guys

This has been asked before im sure, but not in perhaps this particular issue.

Car is kept under cover most of its life and the one time we had torrential rain was when we were away for the weekend, onlt to fin that the sunroof drains had failed and flooded the car.

Ive sorted the drains which isnt as bad as your would think (the whole roof doesnt need to come down just the remove the rear light or blower in the roof and rear grab handle and there is enough access)

Anyway car is dried out and roof sorted but the stereo seems intermittent in sound sometimes it works a treat and other times its just sound from the front speakers, now im thinking its the amp but took a look today and it looks like new no water marks or anythin and like I said it does sometime work fine.

Before i go blow 2.5k on the new amp yes is the 24 speker full monty one! Just missed one on ebay for 1100 which i new i should of just bought in case!

I havent checked the drivers side for water as the passegner side was where the water flowed out o at the rear when we opened the door.

If the sub had gone would that then cause issues with the other speakers or is it just a standalone speaker, so if it blew anyway your would just have reduced base levels?

The Amp must work to a point as it does have sound and the phone connection etc all works as it should. If the amp goes off it then the audio it off so the phone connection drop off too.

Could the map still be working but just not all of it? Or could it be the Sub that gone, not sure hwo the amp feeds out to the speakers if its direct or if it goes to the sub first and then onto the speaker.

I still get all the options in the menu and if i turn off the meridan to dolby it drops in volume, and it i turn surround off its drps again so the amp is working to a point?

Any ideas of wisdom much appreciated

Weirdly as i said it was intermittent, ive been out an about today and since blowing some compressed air through the amp yesterday and heating it up with fan heater with the carpets up it seems to be ok again.

Although this does seem to be an instant fix as it didnt start working when i blew it out yesterday.

But so far today its been ok with no crackles at all, so im loather to go and spend 2.5k on a new amp only to find there is nothing wrong with the old one since its dried out!

On a plus side its bee raining and the roof drains all seem good! If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
