L320 facelift differences?

Is there a definitive list of all of the 2010MY facelift differences? I see there is a sticky for when announced, but browsing through it, I couldn't really find what I was after.

I ask, as I'm now fixed on a TDV8 and there are a good number to choose from, sadly mostly black ones.... Exclamation

The TDV8 spans the facelift, so I'd like to be a little more informed on the differences.

This is what I understand so far:

Exterior

- Front bumper slightly different with round foglights on pre-facelift models

- Grill slightly different 3 bars on pre, 2 bars or mesh on post facelift

- Rear bumper slightly different

- Rear light clusters slightly different

TBH - Having looked at photos online, I have no preference on any of these changes. Does anyone know if the headlights are the same, i.e. same performance?

Interior

- Different dash, most notably the centre console area with the key pad buttons gone and an analogue clock added

- I've seen mentioned of the door cards, seats and steering wheel being different. Although some images seem to show the same steering wheel.

Anyone know about the seats? Are they a different design and any different in comfort?

Are there any other interior changes such as the infotainment system, screen resolution or camera quality?

____________

I've also read that the Terrain Response Rock mode was updated. Were there any other significant changes like this? I also see something about suspension/dampers, but don't know the details.

And lastly, didn't the tailgate change at some point? Anyone have photos of the differences in how they open? Was this change 2010 or the 2012 changes?

Or anything else significant that I should expect between pre and post facelift models?

Like the exterior, from photos at least I don't really have a preference visually between the pre and post interiors. But its hard to tell from a photo.

Thanks in advance.

England 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Exterior

Front wings are different (just incase you are considering modifying yourself, old to facelift)

Rear light clusters LED, and reflectors in bumper

On discovery, older headlights are actually better! Not sure on range rover. But don't assume newer is better.

Early cars have a split tailgate. So you can quickly open the glass bit, and put shopping in, without it all rolling out. (check it works though!)

Late cars are one piece tail gate. It's likely to open electrically though (saving effort).

Interior Facelift

facelift Radio and telephone all controlled through the touch screen now.
Screen crisper
Navigation is much better. (though both dated maps)
Easier to fit reverse cam (facelift may come with one?)
Slightly Different gear stick.

door card have memory seat buttons now (before they were on the seat base),
seats and steering wheel different.
may have heated steering wheel option?
seats different design

Alot of early cars may have had the facelift steering wheel fitted. Ppl like to modify range rovers.

This is the early type tailgate without the glass. So you get an idea of the glass opening

Per a LR tech when they launched, facelift has anti-sway control for trailer towing. Torque vectoring. Less ridiculous resume on radar cruise (that doesn’t launch you at the horizon when the car in front of you turns off).

Facelift has flappy paddles for the gearshift, maybe they were an option on pre buy never seen them.

Door cards are different (memory seat buttons on door not side of seat).

Headlights are physically different (less tall), no idea if they are different brightness, the pre-facelift adaptive lights are fantastic, particularly with new hid bulbs in.

A MY10 car will not have the one piece tailgate, it was later MY11/12 on cars that had it I remember correctly.

With the Sat Nav on the 2010 cars the latest update you would get would be 2013 and that would have to be carried out by a main stealer, if that was of any consideration.

With the suspension I think in part you could be referring to CVD (Continues Variable Damping) I think on the earlier facelift variants it was a option, whereas on later ones it became standard.

Cheers
Col

The biggest difference is the feel of a face lifted L320 when you get in. All the updates mentioned above make the cabin feel a lot more luxurious and comfortable.

It’s just a nicer place to be.

Much as I loved my old 4.2 I wouldn’t go back.

Upgrade your indicator and wiper stalls as well to the Disco 4 ? version. A lot more tactile and much classier. See the recent thread on here.
