Loss of power (engine) when turning

Morning All,

Not sure whether this is something or nothing but occasionally when taking a corner or say going round a roundabout, I get what feels like engine power loss, things just seem to grind to a halt.

Because I will be going at fairly low speeds, I cant work out if it is the gearbox not being able to decide what gear it needs or something else, it only happens for a couple of seconds and then everything springs back into life.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

Many thanks!

The gearbox tries to stay in a high gear (presumably an emissions thing) which means it can often be at too high a gear when slowing down and then asking for a bit of throttle. Back in the day it was called the suicide pause because it happens at roundabouts and the like when you decide to go for a gap and nothing happens until the gearbox decides what to do with itself.

I usually use the paddles and manually change down on approach to a roundabout where I think I'm going to need some throttle response. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Try pressing the DSC button to turn it off (on every test drive). If that fixed it:

Could be traction control issue. Maybe due to siezed rear? caliper (check to see if wheels left to right are a similar temperature, after a drive)
or Steering angle calibration
or tyre pressures

Suicide Pause is very appropriate as that is exactly how it feels - just waiting for someone to basically rear end you. Thanks for the help and advice on using the paddles, I'll give it a try!
