Tailgate brake light not working when engine running

Hi guys new to this forum I have a RRS L494 2014 dynamic

The tailgate brake light works when ignition is on but when engine is running it doesn’t work…..any ideas please.

could be over voltage shutting it down, if it's that cleaver to protect itself.

Check the battery voltage while the engine is running, for piece of mind
