United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey
Back in a RRS after 6 years

Hi All!

So, I've just managed to reactivate my old account which I created in 2018 when I had a 2013 L494 Autobiography. That particular car lasted 4 days under my ownership due to some sort of catastrophic engine failure but luckily (for me) the dealer took the car back and returned my money. That's the short version, in reality it was weeks of waiting while the car was 'fixed' and then eventually the dealer decided to call it a day and return my money.

Anyway, the ordeal sort of put my off Range Rovers for awhile and I have had a series of different cars until September 2023 when I picked up a lovely 2016 Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux with all the bells and whistles.....it's been a great car and although a Baby Range Rover it has built my confidence back up again with the brand. My wife has now taken this car on full time so it left an opportunity for me to get something new.

Last Thursday, I purchased a new (to me) 2012 L320 Autobiography in Orkney Grey (hopefully there will be a photo attached) and so far, I am absolutely loving it. It needs a couple of bits sorting, mainly a flickering LED behind one of the instrument cluster needles which is very annoying so that needs some investigating.

Anyway, I just really wanted to say 'Hi' as my last visit to the forums was cut short, hopefully I'll be sticking around a little longer this time and soaking up some knowledge.

Thanks all!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Zambezi Silver

Welcome back, your car looks great. Looks unmolested and standard which is a good look. I used to have a silver 2012 AB and loved it. I upgraded (well sort of) to an L494 and certainly miss certain bits from my 2012 one. Hopefully a pic attached of my old silver one. Enjoy the car

Thanks Johnrrs - the silver is looking nice as well. I would usually go Black or White (probably very predictable) but this Orkney Grey one popped up and it looked great and as you say, it does appear to be very original and honest but only time will tell. I hope it treats me well.

When I got my silver one, it was either silver or the grey like yours but the silver had black and cream seats with black in the middle which seemed quite rare at the time. Does yours have the dual view screen. Mine didn’t which I really wanted. My L494 has it and guess what…it’s never been used once. It’s good to show passengers who think it’s great.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

Welcome back …. I upgraded from early L320 to late L320 earlier this year - a world apart in terms of finish / upgrade. I went to a garage to look at a 2012 L322, but found the interior a bit old fashioned, and felt that I was sitting in my father’s car, so to speak. They had a 2013 L320 and I felt far more at home ….. and 6 months on, still makes me feel special when I drive it.

I too came back to L330 land. Had a 2005 4.2SC in 2010-2013, then a few years off before another 2005 4.2 in 2022.

Had that a year and now have a 2011 Stornoway Grey 3.6 TDV8 and love it.

Would really love an AB, but the bumpers are a bit chunky for my liking.

For the money I don’t think there’s much that can touch them.

I was very close to getting one with the Black seat centres but it just didn't work out, it's a lovely combo though! Yes, I have the dual view screen and fuel pre-heater with remote which is quite nice as well. My two girls love the TV - currently have a Peppa Pig DVD in the player Laughing

Lovely looking car! I do think they look pretty special in Black, I did have a bit of a wobble when I went to pick mine up as I do like a Black car but after giving mine a clean up today, I'm happy with Orkney Grey.

Looks really good in Orkney. I have a 2010 L320 5.0 V8 aspirated which my partner now drives. She loves it. I think late L320s which have been looked after and maintained (not on a shoestring) are really excellent cars.

WOW! I wouldn't like to run a 5.0 V8, the fuel bills would make me cry but I bet it's good fun!

A couple of photos after a quick wash - I'm no detailer but it scrubbed up well I think. Theres a few things to sort, including replacement arch trims and the alloys need refurbing.

Wouldn't run anything else myself but only do low milage these day's, so it's bit of a garage queen now, but just about to do a 1k trip.
