I have a pair of 2006 range rovers...one is rusty beyond repair and one with a couple melted pistons. I have both engines out and wanna swap over! I know the sump and wiring looms are different but anyone know is there anything else that is going to catch me out or need changing?! I have nothing vehicle's side by side and both motors opposite siswd of workshop but as I have done all this with body on and box in I wanna get it right first time lol. 🙏

We're looking at doing the same! How did you get on?

At a guess accessories like the suspension pump and mounting and air con compressor etc. will be different. and wiring loom etc

But there must be a difference for the engine number.

I'm sure you can make use of the mechanical bits and heads though.

So... we ended up doing it!

It can definitely be done - we did have to use the exhaust manifold and mounts off the original engine, but everything swapped over pretty easy.

She is now back up and running.

Hey mate I'm currently swapping engines, I have two 4.2 supercharged engines both out of 2006 range rover sports. the one I'm removing is no good do you think I can put the good engine in without any problems any information would be greatly appreciated cheers for australia
