Does anyone know how to turn off the fake engine noise in the cabin.
It's very annoying
Thanks Current car - 2016 MY17 L494 in black - sometimes towing a Buccaneer Cruiser.

To answer my own question.
on the L494 its called a Symposer

Quote:
Land Rover part number LR049365 is a symposer, which is a device that enhances engine intake noise. It is used in a number of Land Rover vehicles, including the Discovery 4, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 5, and Range Rover Velar.

The symposer works by channeling intake noise from the engine compartment into the cabin. This can be done through a tube, valve, or other mechanism. The symposer can be adjusted to increase or decrease the amount of intake noise that is channeled into the cabin.

Next step - find the thing and turn it down so that the car doesn't sound like a tractor. Current car - 2016 MY17 L494 in black - sometimes towing a Buccaneer Cruiser.

Not sure about a L494, but on the L320 5.0L its bolted to a bracket mounted on the rear of the supercharger.

Cheers

Well the update is that there isn't one on mine!
So I guess the "engine" noise comes from something else

perhaps time to pull the fuse on the stereo head unit / speakers / amp etc ? Current car - 2016 MY17 L494 in black - sometimes towing a Buccaneer Cruiser.
