Also is there anything I can paint onto the pipes to strengthen or prevent further rusting? Thanks |

If its leaking you will have to replace it . A hydraulic pipe is only about £30.

There are a number of products that deal with rust. They generally convert the rust from iron oxide to a phosphate that doesn't corrode further. You then need to coat/paint the metal to stop further attacks. Only way to make the pipes stronger is to replace them. And as said, if it's leaking, it has to be replaced. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks Piston I was thinking of cutting and fitting hydraulic pipe made up with compression fittings then painting all the rusted areas with the Marine Epoxy to prevent further weakness. |

Thanks RRSTDV8. I am hoping to cut section and replace with hydraulic pipe with compression fitting. Any specific product you recommend for the rusted pipes? thanks |

This will likely work but I'm sure you can measure the wall thickness before ordering if not 1.5mm:

You could weld up each of the roll bars to make them solid and connect the oulet of the pump to the return and run the pump in a loop. Get the software for the ACE removed. Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Yeah, ruin the vehicle or just do a simple, proper, fix to repair it. ![]() 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I suppose another simple solution would be, for people to buy something they can afford to repair if it breaks, rather than bodge everything up.
