Leaving the steering wheel unlocked

Hey Guys!
Is there a way to leave the steering wheel unlocked with a disconnected battery? I want to move the car to the garage, but I already disassembled the under-the-bonnet stuff for engine removal. Big Cry Big Cry

I managed it by disconnecting the battery when the ignition was on.
