Less than a week of owning a RRS and loving life

Hi

I’ve just bought a 2018 RRS Autobiography 3.0 Diesel and am loving it. Previously had a 2005 BMW X5 so feels like a massive upgrade, especially in the amount of tech it has in comparison. Any tips and advice gratefully received. 👍😎

Nice!

Drive it, love it, keep it serviced when it needs servicing. 2021 P400e Autobiography

Thanks. The dealer I bought it from gave it a “basic service” before I bought it so it may need a few things doing to make sure it’s well looked after.

If you bought it from a JLR main dealer, just take a good look over it and makes sure that everything works.

You should be able to get any defects corrected. 2021 P400e Autobiography

It was from an independent garage as the previous owner traded it in for a new one and apparently JLR dealers don’t want cars that are 6 years old. Seems odd to me as in the condition it was in plus with the SVO blue colour option it would have sold quickly I would have thought.

We've had a similar journey, except I had an additional 2010 X5 in the middle, and a 2018 HSE rather than Autobiography

Picked mine up about a month ago and absolutely loving it. I think I've almost found my ideal seating position too, although I do miss the storage space I had in the X5

My top tip is to clean your sunroof drains if you have one. My first job was doing the corroded drain tube fix, which was a bit fiddly, but not difficult

My only problem has been trying to sort another key as it only came with one. The local main dealer wanted a fortune for a replacement key so am in the process of shopping around. My one had a Ghost immobiliser fitted - would recommend one if you haven’t already got one.

I've seen people mention exorbitant amounts for getting key replacements, thankfully I got two keys with mine. Also got the activity band/key, which is a pretty nifty thing, although I haven't taken the leap of faith yet to actually use it.

Not sure how common the Ghost things are in Australia, I've only every seen them mentioned in UK based posts/videos
