I have the D350 MHEV in the new RRS (they are inline 6 not V6) and it is a beautiful ride. Smooth, powerful and very refined. We also have a PHEV but in the P300e Evoque variety. Much better for short journeys and excellent economy if on electric. Very smooth and almost silent. Move to ICE in Hybrid is seamless and sometimes hard to notice.

I’ve had the P460e a week and done 450 miles - it’s the quietest most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever driven

Indeed the D350 is refined and has a nice pull but it lacks a bit of punch or maybe I'm used to my other car which is a Taycan Turbo. I guess the hybrid would have better instant torque. |

Thanks for input, sounds like a great car. Did you had any chance to drive the P440e? I wonder if P440e is noticeable slower on EV mode than P460e. I can't find the torque figures of electric motors but power is 140 vs 214 HP. If your battery is low or depleted, will you still get maximum spec'd power in Hybrid mode? |

We test drove a D5 D350 back to back with the RRS P460e and it was clear which was the winner - it definitely wasn’t my bank balance Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Sorry didn’t test drive the P440e but the P460e we tried had no battery remaining and was very quick on petrol alone - the battery only on my P460e feels incredibly quick too and seamless between petrol and EV - I’ve not noticed any difference between EV, petrol or both yet and it’s definitely smoother than my previous 327bhp Mazda PHEV 😎 Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Makes sense, the instant torque of electric motor makes it accelerate faster even if phev is 350kg heavier. Does P460e hide the extra weight well or did you spec the handling package? I also wonder if the transition from regen to physical braking is noticeable or is very linear ev like. |

Went for dynamic se spec but haven’t played around with any settings yet - after the 💩box Mazda CX60 it has incredible handling and smooth in every way

How are the brakes in emergency situations? 2.4 vs 2.8 tons is big weight difference. |

I haven’t done an emergency stop yet but looking at the dustbin lid size discs I don’t think there will be a problem
