So just to add to this usually when its dry and warm say 20c+ I get some squeaking from the rear bushes, but today its raining and 13c and no squeaking, so it seems if its wet weather obviously the bushes hold there shape , when its warmer and dryer they contract slightly which causes the squeaking/rubbing.

Im going to dowse them in some silicone spray and see if that helps.

I just replaced the bushes on mine again this weekend

I took some photos for anyone wants to tackle this up with hydraulic ARB.

The surface bush sitting was getting rusty and not smooth so i decided to sand it and re-paint it.

I also decided to go against the service manual and my self earlier and put some rubber safe grease.

I used dielectric grease, it prevents moisture getting in and its safe on rubbers, i will report back here if it doesn't last long.

Here are some pictures.

Did mine at the weekend also.
One problem was with the sump pan, one of the captive nuts had rusted and was just spinning. Luckily it was on one of the 'keyhole' fastenings at the back, so could allow the pan to be removed, thus giving access to the other side of the beam. A 17mm spanner held the square nut and it came off ok. Luckily, just adjacent was an unused captive nut, so swopped them over.
Another issue was the tightness of the brackets that support the bushes. Very tight indeed. Long pipe on the end of my ratchet was needed. I thought it unusual that these bolts required 15mm and 18mm sockets.
All in all about 3 hours of Sunday morning usefully occupied. A short test run afterwards revealed a huge reduction in noise. so all good.

Thanks to all the posters for their advice. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Great write up and pics - did you just use a hydraulic jack to support the ARB bar?

Presume after taking the supports off its just a case of undoing the 2 bolts either side to get to the bush, then new bush in.

I used an old scissor jack to support the ARB, its way too heavy to let it dangle on the hydraulic hoses.
I also used a tiny smear of silicone grease to ease the bushes into the clamps. Even with this they were a tight fit, so I used a small sash clamp to press them in. Don't let the grease anywhere near the bore of the bush.
I used an 18mm ring spanner on the bush clamps. As the studs are quite long, I couldn't get a standard socket to fit. Don't think an open ended spanner would work. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Great thanks Grimble - did you feel a difference in the ride after the new bush install?

Not so much a difference in ride, but a huge difference in noise. Roads and lanes round my way are rural and fairly poorly surfaced, now no more clunks!
A job well worth doing, saved about £150 compared to my indy quote. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Now the front is done and made a huge improvement, I was wondering about the rear ARB bushes. Do they suffer from the same wear and therefore need replacing at similar intervals?

Can anyone advise as to what kind of a job it is?
