Another member for the RR Sport HSE blown engine club. Mine is 2016 with 80k miles on the clock.

JLR have reported metal in the oil filter but not exactly what the problem is. They've applied for a warranty claim but I'm absolutely sure this won't wash.
I've read a lot of forums on this but no hard advice on what to do so I have two questions...

1) Has anyone had any luck pushing for a warranty replacement. Worth getting a solicitor? Any steps on how to word a complaint/request? Is it even worth bothering?

2) Does anyone know of any reputable garages that will put a recon/salvaged engine in? I'm in Manchester and all the specialists round here only want to put a new engine in. Obviously I'm avoiding all the ebay lot but any recommendations of someone that will swap the engine out please?

Any any other advice that might help me out of this situation.
