LR015144 - ACE Pipes

For those still waiting these parts there’s a set on eBay. They look twice the price but it would save the 7 month wait we had!

Nearly a grand, and people say LR dealers prices are a rip off.

Cheers

They’ve dropped in price now. If I’d have to make a choice between waiting 7 months for parts or paying the extra £££’s I’d be paying the extra! Hopefully this is a sign parts are now starting to come back in stock!

Can the rigid pipes not be replicated with stainless braided nylon pipes similar for use in high pressure hydraulic applications ? Not sure what the fittings are at each end, but can’t be beyond the wit of man (or woman - thank you Reg).

There are some on here that have used hydraulic pipe with couplings to patch repair. Pirtek also supplied for temporary fixes to someone on here. Not sure how long term they would last?

Our garage wouldn’t touch this repair other than with the genuine parts.

I dont know what you guys are doing - soaking the car in "sea water". The ace pipes should be designed for the life of the car. They surely cannot be leaking from internal corrosion. Its a 4WD, it should be able to take getting wet occassionally.

I would hazard a guess, the main issue is salt used on UK roads during the winter months is causing the majority of the corrosion, in addition to it getting trapped between the pipes and mounting brackets which seem to be where a lot of them fail.

Cheers
