I’m sure everyone has heard about the security recall/upgrade on Range Rovers from 2018 onwards. Is there a reason why they are not doing cars pre 2018. My car is 2015 and has all the keyless tech that the post 2018 cars. Do pre and post Range Rovers have different systems?

No never heard anything from LR so assume it’s not needed for older L494s……….

Any update on this? I checked with my dealer and they told me there is currently no recall/update planned for the pre-2018 cars.

To get insured at last renewal I had to fit a Meta tracker and immobiliser and I also have to use a krooklok, so I’d say the insurance companies think there’s an issue.

Got a letter today with information that I will be contacted soon with regard to a security upgrade.
In the interim I've received a Faraday pouch (free of charge) and advice on how to disable keyless entry.
There is also a new key fob battery option.

Thanks - mine is in soon for a new front prop shaft so will see if there's an update for it

sounds like there will be an update coming for 2016-2017 models

Ive got my Faraday pouch with the letter promising of an update later in the year. Also got the offer of complimentary sleeping batteries which go to sleep when they are motionless. I put my order in and was notified "Please wait for up to 6 months for delivery"!

I've always used these Faraday pouches, but they don't last forever - the internal coating wears and they are useless after about 6 months.

Received my letter and pouch yesterday, also placed a sleeping battery order, see what happens I guess  Iggy/Ieuan

This has apparently been extended to 2013 models onwards too.
