Insurance getting cheaper?

Today I got my renewal through for my 2015 RRS AB. £795. £30 cheaper than last year. This is with a no fault claim too (a named driver in one of my vans) so I was dreading renewal time this year. Still more than twice I was paying 2 years ago but could be worse I suppose………

Good to hear

Don’t think i’ve ever received a car insurance renewal that was cheaper than last year, always higher and had to ring up, threaten to leave, to get it near reasonable inflationary increase!

Hopefully the insurance cartel have moved on from Range Rover Sport bashing Thumbs Up

I normally have to do the same too but I’m just going to auto renew this year. Can’t be bothered with messing around and probably won’t get any cheaper anyway (just like last year)

100% agree, £800 is decent in todays market, i was hours on the phone and online faffing around to get my insurance down to £1,200 on an L461.

I was paying £700 for a 2019 Mercedes E class that almost doubled from £400 a year prior with no change to the risk profile.

We have all been rinsed! Lets hope its now stabilised Thumbs Up 2024 Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE in Varesine Blue

£1200 for the L461 seems very cheap compared to some of the stories out there……..

Got mine from Quote me happy last week for £250 for my TDV8, my present insurer LV would have been over £500 it's a 2007 so it would be written off for the slightest thing as long as I'm legal I really don't care who I'm insured with.

That was with Admiral, everyone else was £3k plus. So no real choice, lets hope they are still competitive in the future! 2024 Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE in Varesine Blue

My insurance for my L320 2013 HSE SDV6 is up in a couple of weeks, so have commenced the joy of searching.

Two drivers both in their 50’s (prime Very Happy ), no accidents claims etc, 10 years NCD, postcode is rural Kent, parked on drive.

- Quote me (un)happy wouldn’t quote unless I fit a tracker
- Admiral £1250
- 1st Central (current insurer) £580.
- Churchill from about £600.
- Various via the meerkat from about £600.

Amusingly, moving the car from the drive to the garage upped the premium on meerkat ….. looks like the missus’ 2017 mustang gets the garage for another year!

Last years premium was £280, Albeit on a 2007 L320 …. Looks like the current insurer will get the repeat biz.

I definitely need to find time to shop around. My renewal with AXA has come through for my RRS 4.4V8 diesel 2017 and it has gone up to £1,004 from £884 last year.

AXA put mine up on the 4.2 sc but not on my fullfat 4.4 petrol they also were the best for the wife's d3 v8 with x2 no fault claims.
They don't do multi policy but offer discounts for other policies at same address.

My insurance company (Dial Direct) just quoted me almost £1300.00 for my renewal (£600.00 increase). Shocked

Before I started arguing with them I just checked with confused.com and got a quote from Tesco Bank for only £506.00. Thumbs Up

That's fully comp, breakdown, upgraded courtesy car, legal cover, personal injury, 2 x key fob cover and protected NCD.

Guess which one I opted for? Very Happy

I'm 66, male and retired.

Yup

Tesco Bank quoted me £600 cheaper than my renewal with Churchill, so fully comp with all add ons I need including NCD protection £472.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Wow, you did even better. Very Happy

It's great that prices are falling, it was plain silly there for a while. Shocked

Being a Cockney, I'm so glad I don't live there any more . . .
