The other thing for the Lazy-Lock, which I was hoping to get, is to have the car drop to access height on alarm setting - but I think its impossible for 'safety' reasons.

Would be good though.

And what about changing the speed-limit for the car to sink to access-height while driving?
So it'll sink to access-height when driving 70 mph. It'll save you some fuel

The mirrors, i'll ask about. Haven't got the things on mine but will see what info i can dig up. As for the height thing, i want the opposite. In Australia, it's not uncommon to travel at 80 km's on dirt tracks which have high ridges worked into the middle of them. Not very good for your car to be automatically scraping its' belly on these when you get above 40! Will talk with the guys at LR and will also (hopefully) be speaking to Chris from LRTuning very soon when i can convince him to head to WA to enhance a couple of TDV6's. Maybe he can work something out while he's inside the ECU.

Tonser I can confirm that you can use the remote to drop the RR the guy showed me when I was on the off road day. You can use the remote to do a couple of things but it has to be set up and can only do one of them.

I personally would really like the mirrors and windows to close via the remote, hope we can get this sorted ASAP

You can use the remote to drop the RRS to access height, but you have to have the hazard warning lights on first - land rover consider it unsafe to adjust the vehicle height withour alerting nearby hedgehogs ! Instructions to set this up are in the owners manual.

Right, i have some good and some bad news........ Firstly, Lazylock does exist , i have had it confirmed by 3 LR employees, one a salesman, one head of service dept and the other LR computer tech, a very reliable source. From what i have managed to find out this has nothing to do with the remote, it is all controlled by the ECU. A trip to the dealer is required, whereby they can access the alarm menu and then add the required options, either sunroof or windows, or both. Unfortunately the mirrors are not part of the deal . The worst part of the whole deal for me is that legislation was passed two years ago, banning this option from being activated on any vehicle within Oz I do remember something about a child being shut inside a car outside of a casino in 35*C, not sure if this is what prompted it. As it stands it can but won't be done to mine unless i can find a favourable service tech who is willing to help out...... As for those of you elsewhere, i suggest a phone call to your service dept and let them know the score, you want this activated! Wish i could have been more help, but at least we know it exists......

Hi Driller - thanks for the update. As you say, its good to know it is feasible to have it 'switched on'. My car is due for delivery next month so I'll ask them to do it when they prep the car - we'll see what happens. Shame about the mirrors though.

This happened on an episode of CSI once But in Las Vegas, obviously.

Hi, Not sure how true this is in terms of the legal issues in Oz. I have a Audi A3 and I can close and open the windows and sunroof with my keyfob. The car is only 1 year old.

Ps. Getting my Sport in Dec hence the interest.

programming, in the Australian market we are unable to activate it.

My service Manager has advised me that a few years ago Australian compliance
restricted this feature for all cars sold in Australia

yeah but on the Audis/Bmw key fobs and merc i think. You have to press and hold the key on the lock position and be within 5 metres of so and it will close the windows/sunroof etc.

Aren't you guys talking about it closing/locking all doors/windows as soon as you hit the lock button? Can see why this would be dangerous, as there would be no way of controlling the locking/closing, should you leave a kid/dog in the car. Obviously would want to lock it, but not want to shut all the windows/sunroof by default..

How many times have you guys had the **it scared out of you when you have left the door slightly adjar, and walked round the front of the car and hit the lock button! the horn is quite loud.. and made me jump on a number of occassions!!

Anyone got answers on this yet? Cant wait to close the windows & fold the mirrors when the alarm is set............bet you cant do it!

Would be nice to press alarm and any open windows - automatically close and fold in your door mirrors - close sunroof as well - if fitted

My last 2 P38's could do it, so I don't see any reason why the RRS can't be programmed to do this. I'm going to ask the dealer to do it next time it's in.
A neat trick on my MINI is the unlock feature which opens the two windows and sunnroof when you press and hold down unlock on the remote. Doing it from a distance and seeing people stop and stare is priceless - car opens up and no-one is in it or anywhere near it. hehe
