My car is 8 yrs old , had since new
34 k miles on clock
Service is due they are advising a new cambelt. Do I really need it?

The schedule is 7 years or 112k miles I think. Which ever comes first. Really the only person that can say if if it's worth it is you.

Personally I would get it done, you very rarely get a second chance if the belt gives up.
