The 18" size tyres are much more forgiving to wheel angle errors than the 19 and 20" rim sizes.I've been horrified to see extremely expensive tyres worn after only 15,000klms.For these larger rims,i recommend at least 40psi of pressure in all tyres if you want any sort of life out of them.Regular rotation is the other crucial factor with these very wide and flat tread design.These last 2 factors can make or break your tyres lifespan regardless of w/a specs.Personally,i would rotate every 5,000klms,however the original tyres on these models were never designed to last long anyway.

Make sure you find a workshop who is willing to do a good job as per specs the first time and get a computer printout for the job to prove the settings are where you want them.My local Land rover dealer was so impressed with my success,they offered me a job working exclusively on their vehicles(Pacific Land rover in Queensland)

I'm about to fit 265 70 17 to a set of Dynamic steel 17" rims
the tyer fitter sais he can do the alignment without going first to a dealer to get locked in "geometric" mode while performing the w/a.
Your comments/recomendation?? AND should I give him the guidlines as per above and insist he complies with them.
You say the 18" are more forgiving than the larger sizes - does that mean similar for the 17"x7"

I have just found this thread and it looks like this is what I have been searching for. I have a 6 month old Discovery 4 which used to drive perfectly until it went into the dealer for a disc break change(un even wear due to a build problem). Since getting it back I noticed that it had become really camber sensitive and I am constantly correcting the steering to the right. Ive had it back in the dealer twice now and the last time I got it back it seemed better but was slightly over compensating.
I took it to an alignment specialist and the toe angles were really out. We have set it up to the following and it still drifts to the left with the road camber (more than I would expect).
Front toe 0.6mm both sides
Front camber -30' both sides
Caster Left 4 degrees 18' Right 4 degrees 6' (not changed)
Rear toe 0.9mm both sides
Rear camber left -24' Right -42' (not changed)

I have found about 3 different versions of the manufacturers settings and I am not bringing back to the dealer as alignment clearly isn't their strong point. Are the above toe and camber settings ok or should I set it to your earlier recommendation at the beginning of the thread.

Should we adjust the caster and will this help? What settings should we use in the UK?

Any assistance would be really appreciated as this is driving me mad.

Not sure if your still around...but was looking spec on an 08 LR3...i have the 3" johnson rods along with 24" rims & 33" tires. Ever since i had a shop align it...it seems to feel like my tires are sitting like a "V"....literally will hug a groove in a road and i feel like im constantly pulling one way or the other. Also...getting scrubbing now as where before I only did if i was close to locking the steering wheel on either side....CAN YOU PLEASE HELP WITH SOME SPECS that I can take with me? Thank you and a good point- nonetheless I was hoping someone may know from experience if what bernie mentioned for the same size tyres on the the Sport is applicable to the l322. the point he made more than a decade ago about even dealerships and tyres companies just applying software recommendations as the least effort rather than what may be optimal still seems to hold true..
