Locking wheel nut removal

Oh the joys
Had the beast for about six months.
Thought it was time to sort out the park brake and ride height issues
Some clown had air gunned the wheel nuts back on.
Had to dig off the steel caps to get to the bolt.
Look at the photo of the length of bar I had to use
Same problem with locking wheel nut, the major problem is its now turning pretty freely and I suspect the stud is rotating on the hub

Is it as dire as that and looks like wrecking an alloy to get access

Thanks for your help

Had the same issue with mine, the cap is hardened steel but if you can get a hole in it,, as big as possible and a nice sharp cold chisel it will break leaving the stub,, then you can weld something suitable on. A bit patience and it will come,, better than trashing a wheel. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it
