Plenum cleaning 3.6 TDV8

Although my plenum was cleaned by a previous owner approx 40,000 miles ago, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be caked in there.

Rather than take it off and clean it with a scraper, toothbrush etc, which won’t get into all the nooks and crannies, I was thinking of buying a used one and then taking it to a local gearbox specialist and getting them to put it in their parts washer for a thorough cleaning.

That way it can be simply bolted on and the old one removed.

Any issues with doing this ? I’m not sure whether there are any electrical connections or delicate bits in there that might get damaged as the washer is a heated jobby with a chemical cleaning solution.

Thanks

Jonny
