Hi Guys,

My neighbour is selling his 2013 L494 SDV6 HSE 135K miles. I currently have a 2007 L320 4.2 S/C with 89k and I’m thinking of replacing it with the SDV6. My question is, does the L494 SDV6 also suffer from the crank issue?

Also what other issues should I look out for or things that should have been changed on the car?

I’m looking for more MPG and comfort but still fun to drive. Is it a better upgrade than my current car?

I see your location is London, are you in the ULEZ and have you thought about that? the 4.2SC is exempt.

Also it will never be as much "fun" to drive as the 4.2SC

In terms of fun, I know it won’t be the same as the 4.2 SC but maybe more smooth and refined etc?

My 2010 3.6 TDV8 is a much more pleasant place to be inside compared to my 4.2 SC. Admittedly not as much fun, but very torquey, plenty fast and more
mpg.

Thank you JonnyCJ. I love my 4.2 L320 but I’ve had it for a couple of years now and want something that has a nicer cabin look/feel and also drives maybe smoother or more comfy.
