Sounds like you've got the dreaded manifold break, take it to a garage to get smoke tested they'll be able to diagnose.

Yeah I think you could be right : (

I'll get a smoke test booked in

I've just watched a video on YouTube and the guy takes the body off the chassis to do the job Surprised

That's going to be expensive

Hi

Watch this one from LR Time

&t=745s

Had your exact symptoms and code on My TDV6 RRS, did this exact fix with his recommended changes and all fixed no code, no restricted performance. and all for £7.99.

Is it a permanent fix? no idea.... but it has lasted well, and if it returns I'll go in for the big job..

Cheers
Paul

Wow just seen the video!
So is he basiscally blocking the leak with the thin metal shim? How does it stay air tight tho?

Mines booked in with a indy tommorrow to replace the manifold! Now Im in 2 minds!

he bonds the metal plate over the crack on the manifold. Christian uses epoxy to do this however it's only rated to 100 degrees.

I used JB weld which is rated to 287degrees C and 5020psi, pressing the metal plate onto the manifold when shaped correctly forces the weld into the crack. I left it for 24 hours before starting to ensure it had completely cured in place.

Has he given you an idea on the price ?

Is it recommended to do both sides at the same time ?

Hi all,

Yes got both sides done as your only paying for a few more hours labour rather than having to take all the fuel lines out again etc and the new washers/seals again .
£1200 for both manifolds all in 👍🏻

Update on mine I've finally got the time to have a look at mycar over the weekend.

As well as.going into restricted performance mode I now have an engine management light coming on.

I've taken the map sensor out and cleaned it (black oil over the sensor)

Engine management light gone out ....for now!

I purchased a smoke machine to see if I could do the (jb weld repair)

Unfortunately it looks like my leak is from a rubber seal/gasket
I've added a few pictures to show

If you've got oil on the sensor be more than likely a manifold leak as the oil is escaping.
Do the old smoke test and see if you can see anything.
