Rubber boot liner

Hi
I have ordered a roll of 3mm flooring rubber with chequered pattern for the boot , so that the mobility scooter will stand on it and i can clean it easily.
I want to attach it to the backs of the rear seats in case i need them to be folded down,so entire area can be cleaned easily.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/AVIF_8...SX425_.jpg

can i drill and tap the floor pan to accept bolts for mobility hoist?
can i attach rubber mat to rear seat backs with self tapping screws and washers? Or should i glue velcro to the seats and rubber mat so they can be removed easily?
Any one else fitted a "autochair " hoist in rear of R/R.
Thanks in advance for any help / insights you can give me!!!
Dave

These will save you crawling underneath ...Rivit Nuts

Drill , insert . tighten up a bolt fully then you have a threaded hole Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Well you cannot drill and tap the boot floor as its only thin steel sheet. they would expect bolts and washers . You will still need to get underneath to be sure you are not drilling into something vital or the spare tyre.!!! Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

I've used these a lot, but I would not trust them for taking much load, especially through thin material.
