Sorry....flat battery question!

Monday did my usual 100 mile round trip to work, got home about 7pm, no issues or warnings.

Didn't drive it Tuesday, but went to open it at 6.30 am this morning (Wednesday) and nothing, no unlocking or anything, all that happened was rear lights came on.

Left it and borrowed my son's car to get to work.

Tonight, used the blade to open car, and opened bonnet before connecting charging point to a C-tek and gently lowered bonnet.

As I walked away (locked car with blade) I noticed rear lights were on again.

Of course I need it charge for a good 8hrs or do, but my questions are:
1. What's with the rear lights being on this morning and again now when plugged into the charger? (All lights etc in off mode)
2. Any idea why battery was fine only two days ago, and today dead? (For context, I do remember now that stop start hasn't been operating for a few days).

Thanks and sorry for the questions

Cheers

I’ve recently replaced my battery after months of denial about it been on its way out. When I couldn’t open or lock the doors with the central locking the car bleeped from the inside and it said low battery start engine but it was so flat it wouldn’t start. I too charged up with the CTEC and all was ok until doors opening all time after washing it drained the battery on 2 occasions. My car is also a 2015AB and mine was the original battery from new. They do say a battery only lasts 7 years or so.
