C1B00-61 steering angle sensor fault

Hello,
Over the last few thousand miles the Range Rover sport has thrown a wobbly
four times and come up with the predictable 'special programs off
"suspension lowering'..… It happens whilst doing motorway speeds,
just driving along not braking.
It is coming up with the fault C1B00-61 steering angle sensor?
Anyone able to help sort this out or anyone had this before?
Thanks

Hi Simon, sorry, can't help with that error code and just checked the manual and nothing came up.

I was about to post a general comment as i recently had similar symptoms to you (car sh@t itself and wouldn't do anything). I ended up buying a whole new steering column just to get a replacement sensor even though mine looked fine.

In short, before you do anything, get underneath and determine if the rubbish little plastic locating ring is broken or not see last pic showing the broken ring - mine was and 1p worth of glue and it's been perfect since - will post some pics below to show. There are some good write-ups on here but in the end i found it easier to take the whole thing out, glue it and then put it all back - having done it once i think i could do it in about an hour now...but harder the first time obv. You could maybe glue in situ, but if you get it wrong and glue the sensor you're in liquorice.
