Warranty direct claim 3

So the last time my car went in for works ( pinion seal) they found another slight oil leak coming from the vacuum pump/ OS turbo. Anyway I asked Steph at JAS if this would be covered on the WD warranty. She said it was quite a big job but would go down the warranty route and see what happens. This time WD scrutinized the service history on my car and noticed there was no service history according to the online LR history checker on the car from 2019 to 2021. Luckily my car had been serviced as per schedule but not by a LR specialist who can add the details to the LR digital history but I had copies of the services done. Anyway I scanned them and sent them to Steph for her to forward to WD. I was expecting them to wriggle out of the claim somehow (so was Steph) but 24 hours later got the claim authorized . Now this job is going to cost £3.5K and pretty sure a new turbo and vacuum pump are getting fitted. I’m very happy with the service at WD as when this work is done it will have had over £5K in warranty work done. So far I have had the warranty for 2 years and paid £950 each year . First year I had no claims but all the rest in the 2nd year. Anyway anyone who is looking for an aftermarket warranty should certainly give WD a go going on what works I have had done all paid by WD minus the £150 excess per claim obviously.

Not too sure if the £3.5K is the correct price but that’s what JAS said it would cost. They did say if it wasn’t covered on the warranty they would leave it and monitor the oil leak every time the car was serviced. Even though there was an oil leak there was no signs of oil on my drive , no funny noises and no lack of power etc so I would have been none the wiser if they hadn’t told me about the leak……..

Just had to have the vacuum pump pipe replaced on my 2017 due to an oil leak to base of sump, picked up at the service. Cost £1300 incl VAT (which luckily I can at least claim back VAT through business). Warranty Wise rejected my claim as they don't cover replacement pipes! Also had sticking throttle body replaced, but also refused as WW don't cover carbon build up which was causing the throttle body to stick. Big Cry
I only pay £400 per year for WW, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised but renewal due end of March so not renewing with them but may try LR or just not bother and same the premium for the next repair! Laughing 2017 RRS 3.0 HSE Carpathian Grey with all gloss black bits

£400 a year is very cheap for a warranty but if it doesn’t pay out then a waste of money. I pay around £1K a year for warranty direct warranty. I’ve had it 3 years I think (4th year renewal in March I think) and had over £6K in warranty repairs so I’m quids in at the moment. I’ll probably keep the warranty running if the price is similar to last year, more for peace of mind motoring and if I ever sell the car privately it’ll be a good selling point.

my policy with the original WD expired in January, the new one wouldn't offer cover on a 2015 with 71K miles. I only ever had two claims for handbrake modules Joined the X5 45e club
