These look very similar to the marks that someone posted about in the very early days of the forum and turned out to be shipping wax that had not been properly cleaned off in the prepping bay prior to delivery.

Iton - i did not use wax on my car - according to the dealership, these marks were left behind when the factory fixed a paint blemish and forgot to thorougly buff it up - again, i would ask a second RR dealer just to be on the safe side -- Robert

After reading everyone's advice I tried again to wax/polish/scrub all I can without harming the car. The roof (second picture) appears to just be the build up that some are speaking of.
However, the ring on the hood (first picture) appears to be something that cannot be fixed, only repainted.
I had the exact same ring mark on my black car it looked like it had had enough paint the ring was a brown colour but you could only see it in bright light when the car was clean...the repaint was really good and I have had no problems with it since..
Good Luck

Thanks for all the advice. I am going to have them wax the roof clean and then repaint the hood/bonnet next week. I will try to post "after" pictures then.
I was able to get some nice accessories from the dealer for the inconvience. So far my dealer has been very good to work with. I was a bit afraid after hearing a lot of horror stories about Land Rover dealers. Let's hope I feel the same way years from now about them.
