Totally agree with the seat belt buckle rattle, drove me nuts until I found what it was.

You would have thought that someone surely would have spotted it during testing and put a fix in place especially with what they charge for the em, but a bit of colour matching sticky backed velvet off ebay works a treat to cut that out.

Now just got to find something to stop the noise coming from the passenger seat when the wife's sat in it. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY

It's interesting to note that after Harry's slightly tepid review, he replaced is L405 with one.

Yes, that was slightly odd. I'm surprised he didn't just either keep the old L322 or replace it with a newer/lower mileage L322 - he reckons the L322 is "peak Range Rover" after all. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

He still has the L322, it’s the PHEV L405 that’s been replaced with the new RRS.

I've had my AB D300 for about 4 weeks now but I only partially agree with you

Yes the new RRS is pleasant to drive. The D300 engine in my car is surprisingly grunty and smooth with it too and it is already more economical than I was expecting. No regrets over not specifying the P440e drivetrain as I originally did. Overall the mechanical refinement is excellent. The ride overall is also very good but my car does crash a bit on sharp potholes even though it has 21" wheels but thats probably just an inherent characteristic of air suspension. OK its never going to be sporty but it steers around corners far better than my previous galleon in a storm handling L405. And a big plus point for me is the increased rear seat legroom. Because I have long legs I always have the drivers seat set almost as far back as it goes and the old RRS was more like a 2+2 as a result rather than a full size SUV but the new RRS is a genuine 4/5 seater even with me driving and they havent skimped on boot space to achieve that either

The big negative point for me so far is the wind noise from around the A pillars and judging by other internet reports I'm not the only one who is complaining about that. Not only that but the small fixed quarterlight window looks like a design afterthought and it creates a bit of a blind spot especially with the Meridian speaker stuck on its inside. The seat controls are now split between the door panels and the Pivi Pro screen which is a right PITA when I am carrying a passenger because I have to give them a tutorial on Pivi Pro every time somebody new gets in the car. Talking about seats there is no longer a separate adjustment for the upper part of the backrest as there was on the old RRS AB. And then there the seatbelt buckles which cannot be adjusted up and down which means that in my car one or more buckles are constantly rattling against the plastic panel covering the mechanism. Did nobody test drive this car before launch? Last bad point is the panel covering the spare wheel space. There are only a couple of tiny straps to lift it which makes lifting it difficult and there is no way of hinging it open and on my car there is nothing securing it at the forward end. Not acceptable for a near £100k car

I guess this is a typical L-R launch model then. Underneath is a great car trying to get out but blighted by a few irritating features not commensurate with a car costing this much


Old post I know but totally agree, I was shocked to find the boot floor is literally just a panel that has been plonked down. It’s crazy that lr didn’t fit a proper hinged panel that lifts up and stays there whilst you’re getting things in/out.

Agree on the controls as well, it definitely looks neater but so much harder to do simple things like hvac controls and adjust volume. Really don’t understand why all cars are going this way, saving money should not be an excuse on a £110k car.

Also I didn’t know the older model had split adjustment of the back seat, I had it on my old x5 with comfort seats and it was great.

I notice on the latest L461 model, L-R have got rid of the physical climate controls and buttons under the screen altogether. I know from driving my wife's new Evoque how bloody irritating this is. Having to take your eyes off the road to jab a screen with your finger to do simple everyday tasks like turning the radio off or changing the climate temp or switching the heated seat on is ridiculous and possibly dangerous. And my strong suspicion is that this is just a cost cutting measure, which is completely inappropriate for a £100k car

Instead of making manufacturers fit stupid bonging systems to tell drivers they are exceeding the speed limit, maybe the EU should focus on forcing manufacturers to ensure that the basic functions of the car interior are adjustable by physical controls

I totaly agree about pyhsical buttons being better than touch screen and so was very hesitant when I found out the 73 plate car I was looking at was a MY24 and thus all touch screen. However having bought it I don't mind the touch temp control. you don't really need to look at the screen too much as just putting your finger on it and sliding up or down works , the same for car mode and volume. What I do find exceedingly anoying though is the pyhsical seat controls, they used to be effortless on the side of the seat base but now having moved onto the door you have to almost dislocate your wrist to operate them , not only uncomfortable but also difficult to make subtle adjustments. MY24 Dynamic SE,MY21 HSE Silver, MY20 SQ7, MY 18 RRS HSE Dynamic , MY 16 RRS Autobiography now gone & MY 2005 Discovery 3 HSE that I will be buried in !

I suppose the difference is that with the seat controls you adjust them once, memorise them and never touch them again whereas with the volume and climate controls, you're going to use them nearly every trip

It's the tutorial you have to give when some one else jumps in the passenger seat who is bigger than the wife and needs to adjust the seat bits and bob's she has set up thats so bloomin annoying. And as for the temp, seats and fan controls being lost on the facia upgrade, I cancelled my new order for a P460 because of it. Don't like it, it is far better and easier to adjust without looking with the dual rotary dials on the earlier 461's.

I do really like this D350, but, in some ways I do miss my 494 because it was better in ways that this one is lacking, wind noise being one, placement of the door locking/unlocking buttons, seat controls, rattly roof blind and as for that shopping bag lift up flap, great idea and works well but, rattles like its in a gale when not in use and flat. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY
