I was the first person to inquire about the RRS SV with my dealer. They promised they would reach out as soon as they had an allocation. I continued to follow up. Once more details opened up I contacted them again only to be told both allocations had been spoken for. Irritated, I went in for a visit where they told me I could have 1 of the allocations. 2 days later I reached out to them to ask about the deposit etc at which point they told me both allocations were spoken for. When I told the rep I was promised an allocation by the sales manager in person he told me he was wrong. My takeaway is that they have no training and minimal customer service skills. And they don’t communicate internally. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

I remain convinced that 90% of LR's poor reputation is down to the poor quality of the dealership network. Every manufacturer has issues but how they are dealt with by the dealership network sets up the ownership experience.

It's why there is a thriving specialist LR market in the UK - people who know LRs know that the dealerships are worse than useless. Sure, if you want to buy brand new then you're stuck with the dealership network, but otherwise, avoid them like the plague.

If LR sorted out the dealerships, their reputation would climb like a homesick angel. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

LR also need to sort out deliveries, 12-18 months is ridiculous. I also notice that the models with shortest delivery time are Autobiography, so a premium of £10k to pay for a slightly shorter wait time. Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

I assume the recession will turn things back in the consumers favor. For the time being their attitudes towards new buyers leaves much to be desired, as if it's a nuisance. Another gem - in talking with the salesperson about my existing SVR, in order for them to give me fair market value they want me to tell them which vehicle I would be purchasing from the lot. When I told them I just want an estimate of their value for my SVR they went silent. This is is all on the heels of being spun around 2x about the allocation for the SV. You'd think they would care. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

My local Porsche dealer gave me a finance quote instantly by email and offered a test drive without a deposit.

I will not use their finance though as is came out around 10.3%!!!! I will finance elsewhere!

I was also told 10.3% but couldn't confirm figures due to lead times and model changes. I also thought the APR was to high and would look elsewhere if i decide its the right car for me.

When you have to wait 12 - 18 months for a car I cant see the order takers needing to do much to keep customers happy at the moment.

Ive looked at two Porsche dealers recently and you cant get a test drive let alone a hour in a demo car until you pay a deposit but they cant give you a finance quote as its wouldn't be valid when the car arrives.

Its very much luck of the draw when you walk through the door. Gone are the days when sales mattered and the back yard was full of unregistered cars waiting for a new owner.

Test drove the Cayenne Coupe Hybrid down at the Porsche garage in Tewkesbury and was impressed with the motor to be honest, good drive and performance and well specced but after three 494's diesels under the belt and zip all issues apart from selector button breaking on one I did not get the same feeling about it especially when getting out of it after the test drive.

Anyway, wife ended up getting an electric tincan and I went back to my LR Dealer, cancelled my order for the P460e and bought a used D350 FE seeing as she is doing the bit for the environment now. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY
