some of the symptoms sound like a corroded battery terminal. Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Thanks, I'll check it out even if I looked at the contacts a month ago and they seemed very clean. Some doubts haunted me after the last maintenance the car went through last July, when the oil level sensor was replaced and half of the car's front end was removed, including the oil pan and starter motor. Could it be that the creative mechanic forgot to tighten up the engine ground connections? It's the only thing I can think about since the weird thing started to happen. I say so because on that occasion I asked the guy to replace the sway bar links, which he did, but left them loose on the four bolts leading me to find a garage to fix them after 1200 km of suspension noise when on holidays. It was a nightmare to find a mechanic, in August, down here in Italy, that had willing to deal with a Land Rover this big. Anyway, I'll give it a check, thank you! |

Just wanted to give this post an end: Problem solved by replacing battery latches that weren't tightened anymore on the battery terminals, causing random system shutdowns. Thanks all guys! |
