Had a very similar issue with the rear o/s on mine way back, although in my case it was intermittent, new door lock/catch sorted it.

Thanks for that Col, I'll have a look to see how easy/cheap they are to change. |

Bit of further info, although the door does unlock and open when you pull the handle, if you just touch it and unlock the car, then try to open the door, it doesn't.

You do not have to take the glass out, you can actually do it without disconnecting the glass from the glass from the winder motor linkage as well, although it is a bit fiddly especially if you have hand the size of a shovel. I found it a lot easier as if you remove the outer handle as well, makes it easier to remove and reattach the internal release cable. The only downside with removing the outer handle is you will probably break the little lugs that hold the small cover on as it appears to be designed to be fitted and not removed easily.

Thanks Col, yeah I guess there may be a technique to take the handle out without breaking it but they didn't have it. You wouldn't have the part numbers would you? |

There a a few different lock/catches listed, however the part number for mine was LR019345 which has the keyless start and passive entry, but is a MY13 car and not sure if they are the same as slightly earlier cars. Fortunately I had a few of the small covers laid around, new ones come from L/R primed so if yours are colour coded you would need to get it painted, however if it is the standard "Oberon" colour I think you may be able to still get these from L/R part no. LR018254 for about a tenner, but not sure if they are still avaliable.
