JLR Range Rover Sport Security Upgrade

Hi All

seeing a new press from JLR with regards to Range Rovers models between 2018-2022, receiving a security update to Body Control Module?

link : https://media.landrover.com/en-gb/news/202...uce-thefts

i have 2019 P300 Range Rover Sport, looking to get some info on how they are rolling this out,

i called my main dealer and they said my car does not have a "RECALL",

anyone else getting letters,

whats the programme number for this N791? for Range Rover Sports.

hoping to we can gather some info and make sure our cars are better protected. i live high risk theft area for RRS as well.

Okay, different car running Pivi Pro and different architecture,

That is probably the recall number for Defenders and possibly new model Sport? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Even if you haven’t got a post 2018 vehicle, JLR should not be charging for the remote options such as secure tracker pro. It should be free.

updating new INFO:

i had gone in to my local dealer today, using the chasie no, the dealer can print out something called a "Claim History"

this will have all work inc Recalls on the inventory list.

for Range Rover Sport L494 (2018-2022) the Programme code is N693, this is Anti theft update, the Claim history will have this listed.

i managed to confirm my did have it done, just before i bought it, looks these updates had started as early as May 2022.

and official press release for this update is coming out in Nov 2023 from JLR.

which seems little odd, that long GAP between carrying out the work and announcing it officially via press release.

Had my 2019 model done just before Christmas. The body in motion sensor is apparently changed. One thing to watch is that when it came back from having the security patch done, various things didn’t work, mainly the electric auto steering wheel adjust and memory which had ceased to operate. The grid lines on the reverse camera had also vanished!

Personally think it’s an absolute shambles from JLR with the security issues. This has been ongoing for months and months, and it seems only since insurance companies started upping premiums (obviously with colossal amount of thefts) they have started finding a solution.

Interesting to see if they actually provide some security updates for <2018 cars once the facelift upgrades have been carried out.
