Approach unlocking/Walk away locking

This was a publicised feature for the L461 when it was released but didn’t seem to appear in production. All I can seem to get from the dealer is that it caused some issues so it was ‘turned off’.

Does anyone know more, particularly if there is a way of turning it on again?

I read on a US forum that there will be a future software update to enable this feature in vehicles that have it.

This lot claim to be able to reactivate it among other things.

Hi,

This is enabled on my new D300 AB.

If, while the drivers door is open, you press the “lock” button twice, you get an indication on the dash and it double locks (or dead locks) as you walk away.

If you press “unlock” with the doors open, it disables the feature (one time only).

I've tried it on my MY23 P440E and unfortunately none of the above work on mine.

I have Pivi 4.1 installed, but no setting for lock/unlock at approach.

The double locking with door open just outputs 2 beeps, but nothing on the console, and no change with regard to approach unlocking. Big Cry

I really hope they will reactivate this soon

Check settings, vehicle safety and security, approach unlocking. If that menu is not present, looks like that feature is not available yet on your model

This feature is apparently not available on MY23 models in Europe/FRANCE. Big Cry

Yes it works on recent models MY24, but for early models it was deactivated because of some issues, but my dealer does not know how to reactivate it.
