Thanks for your response. Unexpectedly the lease co has now offered to honour the original quote but insurance is going to be challenging. |

That’s good news! I hope you manage to get a reasonable quote for insurance. |

I’m similar. I can see the value in these plummeting too.

Hi …. I’m afraid I cancelled a Now 460 AB order placed on launch day, 18 months later no build date no update from dealer, this would have been my 4th RR Sport and was really looking forward to it. With terrible attitude by JLR to customers poor dealer relations and high insurance costs I have cancelled. Although dealer verbally saying “No problem I’ll soon sell it you can have your deposit back”. I’m yet to see the money or order cancellation confirmation after 3 weeks. Had a couple of emails trying to sell me other cancelled orders due soon. Watch this space on my £2000 deposit return.. |

Given the amount of new Range Rover Sports on Auto Trader (including hybrids), it is hard to believe that dealers are selling cancelled orders quickly at the moment! |

That is pretty much correct. There was an article in one of the motoring magazines recently that someone shared in another RR forum which went into detail about the security fixes in place for the MY24 and the recall for models from MY20. Basically it said there is now an additional layer of encryption between the key and the car meaning simple key relay will not work. They also have rendered the Canbus interference useless. The JLR CEO was quoted as saying there have not been any of the new MY vehicles stolen by these means (they could still of course be taken by force or a full lift etc but that is much less likely.)

A chap on Facebook had his new 2023 RRS bought in July stolen two weeks ago in Ealing and posted a video of thieves cutting a hole in the boot, and then plugging in something before then driving off. Only about 11pm at night and you can see people walking past while they were stealing it. No Ghost or steering lock fitted, apparently. Video has been taken down now.

That's the method they have been using for a while on the L494, obviously not solved for the new model. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I think that’s the canbus method.

Well after 18 months of nothing from dealer or JLR apart from the “by the way it’s gone up £10,000 and we taken all the buttons away” I sent cancellation email. Declaring I had enough of delays and price increase, please return my deposit. Dealer now tripping over themselves to offer all sorts of cars, I take it from the dealer pool. None matching my AB order spec. Although dealer said six months ago I would get my deposit of £2000 back just wondering if anyone knows my rights to deposit return ? Thanks |
