It's time to update my wife's car from her old Evoque to something newer. Either a Velar or a Sport. Most seem to have the 2-litre Ingenium engine. An engine I was advised to generally avoid by a pal.

I have been offered a 3-litre diesel and a 2-litre petrol as alternatives. I'm leaning towards the petrol as she doesn't particularly need 3 litres (she's in a 2.2 now), but they're all around the same kind of money.

Local dealer (Melbourne) has a yard “full” of Ingenium 2L powered cars - waiting on parts for warranty repairs. No such issue with the 3L, which is what I have. No issues - touch wood. MY21.5 HSE 221KW D16

A gently used 3.0 Velar is being prepped at Sytner Sheffield now. I expect that might have a bit of go in it with a small bodyshell.
