All - just a note to share...driving slowly (30 to 40 pmh) on the M25 yesterday - car in front braked suddenly, the anti-collision featured activated and braked my car suddenly - I had no control of the car and nearly had the car behind me, crash into me.

The most disconcerting part of the intensity of the braking (wheels screeching) and the clear distance still remaining between my car and the car in front.

Needless to say, I found the feature in the menu system and de-activated it.

Have others experienced something similar ?

Wow, can't believe you don't appreciate that.

You were close enough for the system to operate and had your foot on the gas when the car in front braked suddenly and you hadn't reacted accordingly so the car did it for you.

Would you be happier if it had been left completely in your control and you were now perhaps getting acquainted with the body shop receptionist?

I've been saved once by mine in my old 494 and definitely a great use of technology IMHO.

I used to drive 18 tonners for a well known supermarket delivering to Central London - the later DAF's had a similar system that would activate every time an "uberoo" zig-zagged in front of me (& of course were gone in milliseconds), the emergency brakes would come on (often causing a "nearly" rear-ender as these trucks stop very quickly).

This usually resulted in two things ;
1) Yoghurt all over the loadfloor (always yoghurt).
2) from the traffic manager as the telematics flagged up "harsh braking". 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE.

I just had this recently but without any reason, turning right at lights nothing in front of me and doing about 5mph
Emergency brake kicked in and the motorbike behind nearly went into the back of me.
Called dealer and they said to call Land Rover assist… low and behold no fault codes showing.
The technician said it could’ve been a leaf covering the sensor, I said I’ll remember that when I’m doing 70mph on the motorway!

The service advisor was very keen on me ringing her back to let her know the outcome of the technicians visit, not sure if more problems have been reported, don’t think it was just good JLR customer service.

You’ll also find if you turn it off on main screen, it won’t save the setting and you’ll have to do it everytime you get in car

Hi. Anyone experienced the AEB yellow warning light coming on when starting. I have had 3 times, once when it stayed on for about 20 minutes, and twice when for the first 1/2 mile it stayed on and went out. Appears to be when very wet and cold. Anyone else seen this ?

Read the iGuide section “warning lights”.

It gives conditions which may cause the yellow (warning) lamp to come on.

Yes none of those things in the Iguide seem to be true, and it seems to have stopped doing it.
