So today I have been out in the car. A good long run out on the motorway Then a stop off to do some shopping. The car never missed a beat and started up with no issues and no battery low warning lights. What I did notice was that I had to reactivate the traffic sign recognition and the lane departure in the settings as they were turned off. That must be something to do with the battery been flat I hope. Like I said in an earlier post, this all happened after I had just washed the car and there was a chance the CTEC connector I have poking out from the windscreen scuttle could have got wet and shorted the battery out or something like that. Anyway everything seems ok so far……I’m off on holiday soon so I’m going to put the car in the garage until I return and not put it on trickle charge then when I return after 2 weeks I’ll check the battery voltage and see if it’s gone down from the 13.1V that I’m getting at the moment |

It won’t be a wet ctek connector.

My connector is hard wired to the jump start terminals under the bonnet so surely if they shorted together due to water ingress something would happen to the battery? I’m not going to connect the CTEC charger while I’m away to see if the battery is still ok when I return. If the car doesn’t start after 2 weeks of no use then I know the battery is faulty. |

Your battery should be around 12.6 volts when you come back all being well. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Yeah hopefully. If not then I’ll be changing the battery. I’ll keep the forum updated in case anyone else has the same issue |

So back from holiday today and checked the battery voltage. It’s 12.8V and it’s been stood outside for 15 days with no charger attached. This is good isn’t it? Obviously everything works like the boot opening and tow bar and no charge battery warning on the dashboard. I’m hoping this was just an isolated battery drain problem due to water getting into my CTEC charger connector that’s hard wired to the terminals under the bonnet. If anyone has any other ideas that could have discharged the battery please let me know. In the meantime I’m going to use the car as and when but not put it on the CTEC charger. The winter months will put the battery to the test I imagine. Thanks for all the help so far |

I am no auto electrician but charging at 15.2 volts seems a little high on the high side to me and over charging the battery, would have thought it should around the 14.5/7 mark, don't know for sure just a opinion.

Mmm not too sure if it’s high or not. All seems ok now so I’ll be monitoring over the next few weeks. |
