Unfortunately, I have taken the decision to cancel my RRS P440e Autobiography order. I was due to collect the car this month but I just can’t justify the purchase at this point in time.

Since I ordered the car back in May 2022, my current RRS has gone from having significant positive equity (on PCP) to having significant negative equity. Due to the sky-high interest rates, the PCP monthly payments for the new car have also increased by about £250 a month. To top everything off, I’ve been looking at insurance quotes and the prices I am getting back are simply ridiculous.

To be fair, the manager at my JLR dealer has been extremely helpful and empathetic. He even offered to throw in a dealer deposit contribution for the finance. My initial order deposit has been refunded.

I absolutely love the car but it doesn’t make financial sense for me in the current climate. I will wait until the whole situation hopefully calms down and look to place a new order then. It looks like I’m sticking with my current vehicle for a bit longer!

The dealer had no official eta but LR indicated perhaps 1 to 2 months. Although someone else on here was told sometime in the first week of October.

I'd say that nobody knows and it'll turn up when it turns up.

Mine has a manufacturing hold but the delivery date to the dealer is still the same, I heard they were updating cars already.

The last update I managed to sequeeze out of LR today was that I have a tentative delivery date of 6th October, so my date has slipped back a couple of weeks from the original date that it was due with the dealer. The build date was pretty much the same though and the car is confirmed as built.

Software fix has been done and the car is on the way to the dealer. All being well, I should have it within the next week!

🎉🎉

I went with Admiral multi-car and it's come out fairly reasonable.

Likewise, sensible quotes from Admiral. Very few other insurers will even quote though, which is a bit concerning. Hopefully they soon get the message that the L461 has much improved security over the L464...

Apparently they have made a few improvements (well, it couldn't really be much worse). One of the main changes as I understand it is the addition of encryption on the keys, to prevent relay theft.

That’s correct and the tracker is also more sophisticated. The Canbus trick has also been stopped on MY24.

The new RRS is meant to be more secure than previous generations. JLR need to convince insurance companies that this is the case in order to reduce premiums.

No sign of it yet, I presume they're pushing it up the M6?!

The dealer also has no idea on when it will appear! I'm not sure why I should be surprised by any of this now. 🤣
