I used to go to these shows years ago when I had my little Landrover, we went last year as I was starting to get excited about Range Rovers again and I have to say, it was pants! The east of england showground thing, it was more fairground type stalls, selling cheap crap and stuff that had no relation to Landrovers at all, and stunt motorbike riders...who cares about that?

RR, you want to get yourself along to the Land Rover Monthly Show at Gaydon Motor Heritage Centre then, it is usually held over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May and there is only Land Rover stuff there, mainly clubs and a few trade stands and the musem is open the whole time and well worth a trip to.

Hi RRUK, don't know which show you have been to at Billing, but it is not the ones I have been too. It is the premier show in Europe for all LR's, including RR, D3, 90, 110, 130, Series 1, 2 and 3, plus a whole lot more. By the amount of real Landy fans and professionals gathering even today from all over Europe for this weekend it must be good. Did you go round the off road course laid out by LRO Mag which went through the lake. Although it is a very easy course it does sort out the amatures from the reasonable off roaders. Did you not see British Expedition Vehicles stand and Bowler, plus of course at least 15 Land Rover specialist stands and LR themselves? Of course there are some accessory stands, dozens of them, like Mobile Storage Systems. The MD of MSS just happens to be a Aussie bushman and has designed the items from years of real working practice in the outback. Or of course Devon 4x4, they are again serious professionals and build Landy's to your spec. It is the best and knocks the hell out of Gayden. Come over to the Discovery stand on Saturday and I will show you around, may change your mind. |

You guys have a great time at Billing. I wish I could join you but I have to work sometime and will be sweating it out in Savannah commanding the MV Singapore Bay over that weekend, so you have a great time and think of us workers! Hope the weather holds out for you too! If I were going to be in the UK I would have moved heaven and earth to have got down there with my Sport. |
