Heard this on the news this morning. As per usual, the media portray that it's 4x4 owners that will be hit hardest!! It's like sports cars and big-engined exec barges don't exist

They obviously haven't heard that LR now include a CO2 Offset charge in their prices which offsets carbon emmissions for the first 3 years or 45,000 miles!!!..thus making LRs the cleanest cars on the road! Whos ever heard of a motor dealer using cap to value part exchanges??????!!! |

Isn't it interesting that the supposedly "eco friendly" cars in day to day running turn out to be some of the least eco friendly when it comes to lifetime use..... from built through to crusher/recycling the Toyota Prius turns out to one of the least eco friendly cars on the roads today! Even the Supercharged FFRR(slagged off by the tree huggers as being a rain forest killer) comes out better over it's lifetime than both the Prius and the Honda. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Remember that 80% of co2 in the lifetime of a car emissions occur during building. So an 'eco friendly' Prius with a life time expectancy of 10 years will produce more co2 in a life v emissions test compared to a RRS with an expected life is 20 years. Ive done a little research, and it discredits (unless I have made a fundamental mistake) all the fuss about the damage we do with our 'gas guzzling chelsea tractors'.

I own a 15 acre paddock which is 30% wooded & lots of oak & beech saplings in the rest. I also burn off cut wood from the saw mill for most of the house heating, completely Carbon Neutral. OK I run two D3s & an Aygo & have a somewat smashed up Disco1 laid up at the moment but my "Carbon Footprint" is still significantly negative. If anyone wants to decreade their carbon footprint, send me a couple of tree saplings (couple of quid each) and I'll plant them in the paddock.

Reduce air travel, not increase it like all these Council/Gov depts are trying to do. This will reduce massive amounts of pollution. Mind you cattle need to go as well TDV6 - gone

A household general use of electricity and heating is more of a problem than cars. Only 20% of the c02 omitted comes from cars!
