Strange.......... personally I find the seats great

At first I did find the seats got a little uncomfortable after a while, but since I've adjusted everything to the right positions and stored it away in the seat memory, it's been fine.. I don't think they're the best seats I've ever had in a car, but I do now find them comfortable enough. It sounds like you need more lumbar support Tasmod - I assume you've adjusted that?

I'm finding them OK so far, the shoulder support is just wide enough for me, however I am slim chap! I am slightly annoyed that the lumbar adjustment is manual and doesn't form part of the memory, plus considering this is a Range Rover SPORT, you'd think they'd have made the seats a bit sportier, in the same way BMW have different seat for the X5 Sport model, with extending thigh support, blow up side bolsters etc.

I like the fact the head rest is right behind my head, having had whiplash from a car accident I am pretty obsessed with headrests, my wife's Z4 is terrible, no adjustment at all as it's a one piece backrest, if she was hit from behind she'd end up with a flip top head!

I think considering the cost of the car Landrover should have put more of the full size range rover's toys in, like the adjustable contour seats of the Vogue for example. I know they had to have a certain amount of difference between the models but.... L319 D4 HSE

I actually love the seats and find them very good for my back and posture.

My last car was an L322 Range Rover (the present incarnation), although it was the lowly SE the seats were fine and comfy but made me feel like I was perched on them rather than holding you in place. This was a little unnerving at first but ever detracted from the pleasure I got driving the car. The only time it became a problem was when I took it offroad and then less flat seat squabs would have been welcome to stop the driver from slipping sideways on cross slopes.
So far I find the Sport's chairs to be just right for me, but I have yet to do a really long trip in it to see what they are like for a trip over 3 hours....... I'll be driving to Southampton from Stirling in a couple of weeks and that takes me 10 hours with stops. I could manage that with no fuel stops and only comfort stops for me in the TD6, with the much better fuel economy of the Sport I don't expect to have to refuel and only ever drive non stop for a maximum of 2.5 to 3 hours without a break. I know the car can go the whole way without a stop, but my body cannot!

Interesting - my seats are set for both me and the wife and we set them with the door open, simply for the ease of knowing which buttons you're pressing (agreed, it's difficult to see them with the doors closed). I also select my settings after the wife's been driving it before I get in the car and therefore with the door open. My wife qualifies as a short-ar*e and there's no way I'd be able to get in the car with the seats set to her config.

I love the seats as well - the lumbar support is excellent and the tilt of the seating surface is good too for me - i am 6'1"

Isn't that what the lazy locking thing is for though? Have a separate setting for each key and all the changes happen when you unlock the car.... L319 D4 HSE

Oh, so the settings are coded to your key as in BMW seat memories? I was away the day we did that, I think

Its because they are brand new and very firm. I've got new Recaro's in my car which are like rocks. But my previous car had 3 yr old Recaros and because of that know they will soften over time.

Backache Too! My first thought was because the seats were new. I was wrong, very uncomfortable to me after having the car for almost a year.

Drove the Nullabor between Adelaide and Perth not that long ago, 3100km's and only stopped for fuel. Jumped out at the other end as if i'd just driven around the block! I reckon the seats are spot on, i'm 6'0" and medium build, just took a little fine tuning to begin with

I've driven over and back a few times across Europe; last time I did a 15 hr stint stopping only for fueling and necessary food processing. I find the seats great, I've set them as I like them but sometimes find I need to re-adjust the lumbar support (it would be better if this was electric not manual). The comfort level is as good as, or better than anything I've driven before. RRS TDV6 (gone)
