Unfortunately need to replace ECM LR12730 on my 2011 RRS HSE…pitfalls to beware of using a used part (Other than it’s busted too)? New one is $2100-$2300 while a used one is under $200. Doesn’t seem like these are common fails but for the price difference I could swap one out a number of times and still be under budget on a new one.

Engine module. They contain the imboliser code usually so a replacement won’t just work unless
A) you reprogram it. or
B) you buy a kit of parts available of eBay. Ecu cjb, instruments, key

Only a question, is car your car a S/C or N/A? only apart from a digit (0) being missing from part number you quoted that is for the N/A.

It’s not the supercharged…USA regular old HSE petrol…part number came from dealer. 2011 Range Rover Sport GT Limited Edition/Santorini Black 5.0 Liter

I think the part no. should be LR012730 unless for some reason they drop the "0" in the States.

I’ve ordered a used one for $127…….new as stated was was $2300…the dealer is actually willing to install the user part and reprogram. Charging 2 hours labor for install & programming. Part arrives early next week, I’ll update you on the success…

Well, dealership agreed to install my used part, reprogrammed it and all is well! Ended up the cost of the part & 3 hours labor for initial diagnoses/failed program, part install & reprogram. Saved a whopping $2200 by not having to buy new.
