I have March 2016 SVR.
I even replaced the newer style steering wheel buttons ( Genuine LR not copies ) & correct Ukrainian wiring adapter & that was enough to get alerts from the tracking Centre of possible theft.
I was told "any alteration to the original nav ( besides other things ) will trigger an alert ⚠️ 📢

A lot of people don't subscribe to the incontrol secure & protect service & suspect aftermarket trackers are obviously unaffected.

I don't know which system You use, I have InControl remote abo (with my 2015 RRS) and it works perfect, with aftermarket headunit replacing oem nav.

Just the "incontrol Remote" subscription is not the same. Obviously you can track it ! but you won't get alerts for possible theft if you don't subscribe to it ! & it's this that it doesn't like somehow.
So in conclusion hopefully, the people who adopt the aftermarket nav systems know no different because they don't use the full subscription & only pay for the ability to track it themselves thro' the remote app.

I replaced the headunit on my 2016 SVR and can confirm that my In Control subscription still worked.
I know this because they called me to see if I was with the vehicle when I was getting on the EuroTunnel at Folkestone last year!
Mind you, not sure what would have happened if I had said "no", probably a bit late!! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Didn't have it, so didn't miss it. All I lost was the sat nav screen in the instrument cluster. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

They 📢 alerted you at the tunnel ( motion detection ) or the signal dropped. Service mode should be selected as you probably know now.

I'm shocked & stunned that you don't receive alerts with aftermarket nav.

Another thing that will trigger an alert is Ghost system immobilizer ( along with a host of other unwanted things ) have you got one of them As well?

I'm shocked & stunned that you don't get alerts 'due to the replacement sat nav'.

To be clear. I had an aftermarket head unit and a Ghost immobiliser as well as a Scorpion Tracker and In Control subscription. I would get the movement alerts on the In Control app and more than once, I would get a call from the In control tracker team, not sure when but I'm guessing it's something to do with geolocation on your phone and the proximity of it to the car. So for example, when I'm on the EuroTunnel, maybe there's no signal on my phone or it's picking up other networks which triggered the call. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

That's what i'm suggesting. Unless you put the incontol into Transport mode ( Ferry / Train / Breakdown ) you'll get notification. However, Your movements alerts of "more than once" now could be a result of the aftermarket nav, & or adding to the mix, the Ghost.
upon "Cold Check" ( when you first put the ignition on & the car does a self check to see if everything's ok ) mine sensed discrepancy in the canbus system which in turn alerted the incontrol of a possible theft, who in turn notified me. so i had to have that removed !
LR told me "Any replacement of the Original Sat Nav system will also do the same"

irrespective of this, Me personally i didn't want to lose the instrument pop up nor my HUD display nor have the incontrol centre on to me all the time, & thought consideration to this must be shown ( Impartially ) to potential "transplanters"
