I've been trying to update the wheel size in car config using jlr sdd 164 from 17 inch to 19 inch. Sdd finds the needed files and downloads the ccf from car but then fails to upload the new file and says job not started "BCM MODULE". Any idea's what or why this is happening. Battery voltage is at a constant 13.2 volt with a 50 amp power supply connected. All other updates I've done (IPC TCM TCCM PCM) Have all worked without problems.

Are you changing all the correct parameters? There are some four or five things to change. It wants the wheel size, tire size (three separate fields), rolling circumference (tire circumference minus three percent) and the preset tire size if a standard LR size or “user defined” if it’s not. Hopefully you’re not changing the ABS values thinking it’s the wheel size. That’s the only place I think you’d run into a “17”. Does it have a field for front and rear? If so that’s ABS and you need to put it back as it was.

I was doing it through the service options menu. It asks wether its winter tires or standard Then gives a list of sizes mine are 255/50 R19. I select this and then the rest is as I described. 2008 RRS 2.7 TDV6 S Poverty model |

Well, that is curious. Maybe try to update the BCM and see if it lets you do it after. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Can't seem to find anything to update bcm. Would sdd have to be in engineering mode? 2008 RRS 2.7 TDV6 S Poverty model |

Changing the wheel size in the ccf won't make a blind bit of difference to anything, factory standard wheel/tyre combination are 235/65 x 17" 255/55 x 18" and 255/50 x 19" which all have the same overall diameter of around 735mm the 274/40 x 20" is marginally smaller around 730mm. The only time it will make any difference is if fit you fit larger profile tyres and increase the overall dia. of the wheel/tyre combination, and then there will not be any noticeable difference, the only one you may notice will be the speedo will be a slightly more accurate reading and the dash lie-o-meter will tell bigger lies.

I did a lot of experimenting with this when I changed wheel and tyre size and nothing noticeable changed, I eventual fitted 275/45 x 21" wheels and tyres and left the CCF reading for the original 275/40 x 20" the only real noticeable difference is at 50kph on the digital speedo read out according to the dashcam and sat nav gps, as well as the smile roadside cameras is exactly 50kph. at 110kph on the speedo according to the traffic cop when he gave me a ticked I was doing a hundred and thirteen.

This is all good to know... I am going to fit 275x45-20 next time I need tyres... just to get a little more sidewall. It might make my Speedo more accurate... I currently sit on 115 on the speedo and an indicated 110 on my GPS so I know I can creep to 116 or 117 and mostly be safe from Mr Plod.

I thought that on the series 1 L320 the wheel size/tyre was not adjustable even going into the system. On the series 2 L320 it can be changed. 07MY RRS TDV6

There are various siz8es listed within the CCF on the L320 which you can change, but it does not appear to makes any difference to any of the parameters within the vehicle. There were only two sizes fitted to facelift variant 19" and 20" which you can swap between, as I don't think the 18's were but could be wrong on that one. The only time the speedo will change is if you fit bigger overall diameter wheel/tyre combination and it's simply that they are bigger diam over factory changing the reading it is not re-calibrating the speedo.

I was loading a previous session in SDD and CCF was still showing 18s I have since started with a new session and Re ran data scan and wheels show as 19s now. Odd thing though it says HID headlamps not fitted but they are and work and fog lamps not fitted but they are and also work. A few other things don't match either but not going to bother changing them unless the CCF needs updating in the future. 2008 RRS 2.7 TDV6 S Poverty model |

Handing out shirts to everyone who did this and ended up with a Christmas tree on the dash and everything non-functioning in the vehicle. Please form an orderly line.
