The ball joints aren't expensive: £20-30. The cost is going to be getting the old one out and pressing the new one in. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

No idea. If it all goes well, maybe a couple. If they have to fight to get it apart/back together then could be all day. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi all, so I’ve now been told when I dropped the RRS into ATS for mot repair that it’s a complete new suspension arm as they don’t just replace the dust cover ?

If the dust cover is ripped and has allowed grit in to the bearing then just replacing the cover isn't much use. Replacing the joint can be done if you can remove/replace the ball joint in situ. If you can't, then you're looking at a new arm anyway as the bolts usually seize and require cutting off.

As stated above. I wouldn't want a garage that serves "everything" on such a complicated vehicle. There must be a decent indie near?. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

A decent garage will have the tooling to press the joint out in situ, if your handy you can hire from HSS a hand held hydraulic press kit, a new Ball joint, (oe for 60 ish I think) and a few hours work.
