Hi guys

I'm off the Disco3 forum and am thinking or replacing my sagging headlining by re-covering it with black headlining material, dyeing the sunvisors black and painting the light coloured plastics in black matt or satin.

However, it crossed my mind that there may have been a version of the RRS1 made which had black sunvisors and plastic parts.

Does anyone know if this is the case, or has anyone tried doing what I'm thinking of doing using dye and/or paint?

I recoverd my A pillars as they were grubby with leather
Iv a thread on here about it with photos. It's simple todo.

If you really want to make it special think about recovering the roof liner and Internal pillars in black leather it with look 👌

The later facelift 2012/13 RRS1 did have the option of a black (ebony) headlining, not sure about earlier cars though or if there was any difference in the shape of the lining etc.

Cheers Col. I think you are probably correct, although not many made. I've been searching to find out whether anyone is dismantling one from which I could get the sunvisors or grab handles from.

We have a Kahn at the shop with all black interior, including headlining, etc. so they’re out there. I think it’s a 2013.

Check around on Polish sites, it’s like the car graveyard here with lots of secondhand parts off lots of cars. I know I saw a black headliner not too long ago on a scrap site while just looking at what was out there. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
Born and raised in So Cal. Moved to the UK in 2018 for a few years. Now in Poland and looking at moving back to the UK.

They were only a option from vin no. CA000001 on and as normal with L/R there were 16 different ones listed although probably not a lot off differences, but depending on with or without sunroof, which sound system etc. etc. finding the plastic bits might not be to bad, but finding a s/hand headlining without to many cut out's might be a bit more of a challenge.

I struggled to find a black set so I dyed mine, wasnt too bad,

Ill get pics up later but basically died the A,B,C pillars then trimmed the D with a closest fabric I could find (Trying to find a trim to finish arround the seatbelt hole)

Painted the plastics in Satin black and dyed the roof lining (out of the car) Dont paint the grab handles.....

The handles are the same as Ford Focus so I bought a set of Black ones off Ebay and the drivers one is a sunglasses holder.

Sun visors can be dyed too - paint the vanity mirrors.

Can you suggest any sites it would be worth trying. And what would be the search terms for Sunvisor and Grab Handle?

@Col I don't need a headlining as that is being totally recovered with black fabric.

@Crraigymmmmm what dye did you use? Which model year Focus were the grab handles out of?
