Is this seriously the case that a Range rover does not have locking filler cap ? I was so disbelieving that I went and tries it on a P440 in our local dealer and kt appears the fuel and electric covers are both not locking. Surely its not possible that we are being sold cars up to and in excess of £100k without locking covers and no official communication ?

Mine is locked when the car is locked or unlocked if you want to fill up the fuel you need to press the unlock button under the dash to open it.

Hi GJW1. Is yours a recent one or an early release ? Literally none of the ones on the forecourt I checked were locked flaps. |

It doesn't have to be lockable - it has to be secure in terms of not letting gases out. The key bit is so that they can check the seal, not to show that it can be locked.

Wait till you see how easy the filler cover snaps off! It’s the bendiest piece of plastic you’ve ever seen ! |

Mine does lock and you can only open it by pressing the button under the dash when you do this you get a message on the display to say its unlocked.
