Retrofitting gloss black trim - some Qs

Hi,

I want to swap all the silver/steel trim on the car to gloss black equivalents. I have most of the parts but just had a couple of questions if anyone could help:

1. Is there any way to remove the fog light surrounds without removing the whole bumper? I don’t care about damaging the old surrounds (but obviously don’t want to damage anything on the bumper itself).

2. Does anyone have any advice or links to any videos/DIYs for replacing the “Range Rover” lettering on the front and rear? This is the one part of the job I’m not that comfortable with. To be honest I’m tempted to just get my main dealer to do this for me next time I’m in for a service, but I am still researching for the possibility of doing it myself.

Any help appreciated!

1. Just pull them out while squeezing, they do break easily.
2. If you bought letters with a template just tape the template to the hood with some scotch tape and fill the blanks in the template with your letters, using a ruler as a helper.  Regards etc.,

Thank you.

On the lettering - I haven’t bought anything yet but if I do it will be OEM - do you know off-hand if that would come with a template? That would seem to make it a bit more manageable alright (although the guy in that video seems to have made a bit of a dog’s dinner of it?)

Thank you!

I have one more question: does anyone know the paint code/name for the gloss black trim pieces (front grille, skid plates, etc.? A couple of the parts I’ve acquired second hand and could do with a bit of a touch up in some places.

Thank you

One more question (promise!)…

I noticed the rear tow eye cover I bought second hand seems to be missing one of the clips (I believe the part no. is LR012844). Is it possible to remove one of the clips from the item that I am replacing (the one that is currently on the car) and use it with the replacement part? Or is it not possible to remove it from the old item without damaging it?

Thanks..

Hi there,

One further question..

Will facelift bonnet vents fit a pre-facelift vehicle?

I ordered a set of gloss black bonnet vents (LR052982 / LR052980) but the vendor appears to have sent me the facelift ones. I was going to exchange them but I actually kind of like the facelift ones, so might keep them (if they fit).

Thank you!
