Common thing on the 5.0L S/c's with the 6 pot Brembos' both L320 & L494 L/R eventualy brought out a "Ant-Squeal" pad as they called it, which supposedly cured the problem personally don't know if it did or not even genuine Brembo pads did it,, the only thing that shut mine up was EBC Redstuff pads which you can't get any more for SUV's, have not tried Yellowstuff though.

Forgot to mention mine was only really noticeable under relatively light braking, have to say I never noticed any pad/pin "rattle" on mine though.

I do have the Ebc Yellow stuff pads fitted Col, Think its only under light breaking too, Its quiet when cold, I have not been harsh braking as yet so only been going slow so im hoping after a good run they quieten down. Will try a new retention kit if it doesn't go then Mikey, Bloody annoying are squeaking brakes. |

Have to admit it was a dammed annoying noise, I did fit a new retention kit when I changed to the ebc pads and discs so quite possibly that did help.

EBC pads are known to squeak while bedding in

In my case the only pads that didn't squeal at any point were the ebc ones, the original L/R fitted ones and the Brembo ones I tried were terrible, I am assuming the retention kit referred to and brembo pad fitting kit are the same thing.

Did you use Brembo B-Quiet brake grease or generic copper grease to lube the back of the pads? I used Mintex brake grease, Britpart DA2389 on mine and they were always silent.

Haha fast yellowstuff because they look cool inside the red callipers 😂 No i read alot recommend them and they were the most expensive so i presumed they were the best, Didnt want to go cheap on one the the biggest safety features. I used general copper grease for back of the pads, Thing is the nearside doesn't squeak at all so you would think both would if it was the grease not up to the job. Also its only after a few miles so its when it heats up. Im going for a longer drive today so should be able to do some more bedding in. Must say its not loud but enough to hear and bug you so it needs to go, I did read somewhere about Brembo changing the chamfered edge as it was a know fault. Think i will give it a few weeks and if not replace retaining kit and use some ceramic grease. |

Copper grease not recommended on alloy calipers, should be ceramic.

Fingers crossed, they might just need a few more miles to bed in.

I use/used Hawk Ceramic pads, from Cambridge Motorsport, for both my 2010 RRS and 2011 Disco 4 (obviously fitted with 6 pot Bremos).

I watched bodseys video where he states ceramic or copper grease can be used and it’s debatable which is best, So i will put the copper to the test give it another week bedding in pads, But i have ordered ceramic now so will still apply that when it comes. Wasnt bothered about aesthetics but they come yellow. Will keep Hawk in mind for next time but the miles i do it will he 10 years before they need changing. |
